Maternity Photoshoot Solo

Maternity sessions are to capture the love and excitement you are feeling for the life growing inside of you, as you embark on this exciting journey.

It’s beautiful to photograph such a precious time in your life – the look of love and anticipation as you cuddle your bump. The best time to take photos of your blossoming bump is from 32 – 37 weeks.

STRONG. ELEGANT. POWERFUL. BEAUTIFUL.

These are just some of the words that can describe a pregnant woman. But whilst our bodies are creating, growing and nurturing life, it can be very difficult to see ourselves as beautiful, strong!

This is where I come in.

When you book a Pregnancy photoshoot with Kemal Onur Ozman Photography, I see it as my job to take photos of you that look amazing and for you to cherish for a lifetime but also to make you see how utterly beautiful, strong, elegant and powerful you are!

What a solo maternity session covers

A solo session puts the focus entirely on you rather than on the family group — no arranging children, no waiting for a partner to relax. It is the most straightforward maternity shoot to plan and, for many people, the one that produces the images they actually keep.

When to book it

The usual window is between 28 and 34 weeks. Before that the bump is often not defined enough to shape the frame; much after 34 weeks and standing, walking and outdoor locations become genuinely uncomfortable. If you are expecting twins, move the whole window forward by about three weeks.

What to wear

  • Fitted over loose. Jersey and knit fabrics follow the shape; heavy structured clothing hides it.
  • Long, flowing skirts or dresses photograph well in movement, especially outdoors in wind.
  • Solid colours rather than pattern, and tones that sit close together.
  • Bring a second and third option. Changing outfit changes the whole feel of the set for very little extra time.

Studio or outdoors

Studio work gives controlled light, dark or neutral backdrops and privacy — the right choice for close, quiet, skin-toned images and for winter dates. Outdoor sessions in the Tiergarten, along the Spree or in the Charlottenburg palace gardens give softer, warmer results and more sense of place. Many sessions do an hour of each.

Practical notes

Allow 90 minutes and plan for breaks — standing for a full hour at 32 weeks is more tiring than most people expect. Late afternoon suits both the light and most people’s energy levels. Simple makeup photographs better than heavy coverage, and a manicure is worth doing because hands appear in almost every frame.

If you would rather include your partner or older children, see the full maternity photography page and our family photoshoot guide.
