Event photography

Six kinds of event, one standard

Most enquiries come from communications teams, event agencies and organisers who need images that do a job afterwards — for sponsors, for press, for recruiting and for next year’s edition. Every format below is booked the same way and quoted as one fixed price.

Conferences & congresses

Keynotes, panels, parallel tracks, sponsor stands and delegates — one day or a full congress week, with a rolling same-day selection.

Details

Galas & award ceremonies

Arrivals, stage handovers, winner portraits and table coverage, with a captioned press set delivered on the night.

Details

Corporate events & parties

Sommerfest, Weihnachtsfeier, anniversaries, openings and team days — shot so the images work for recruiting, not only for the album.

Details

Trade fairs & exhibitions

Stand coverage at Messe Berlin and beyond — empty and busy, demos, staff and hall context, edited daily during the fair.

Details

Launches & brand events

Press events, pop-ups and activations shot to an agreed shot list, with product and set photographed before the doors open.

Details

On-site headshot studio

A portable studio at your conference, office or stand. Forty to sixty consistent portraits in a day, one retouched frame per person.

Why it is worth doing well

Event photographs are working assets

Almost nobody books an event photographer for memories. The pictures have jobs waiting for them the moment the room empties.

Proof for sponsors

A logo wall with people in front of it is the deliverable in most sponsorship contracts — and the hardest frame to get by accident.

Next year’s sales material

A full room, engaged faces and a well-lit stage sell the next edition better than any amount of copy.

Press that actually runs

Editors publish the images that arrive first and are captioned correctly. That is a scheduling decision, not a lucky break.

Recruiting

Candidates look at your event photographs to work out what it is like to work with you. Stock imagery tells them nothing.

How it works

Five steps, no surprises

  1. 1

    Send the brief

Date, venue, type of event and what the photographs are for. Two lines each is enough to quote.

  2. 2

    Get a fixed price

Availability and one all-in figure within 24 hours, with overtime rates stated before you sign.

  3. 3

    Agree the run-of-show

Shot list, the people who must appear, the moments that cannot be missed, and any AV or accreditation to arrange.

  4. 4

    Coverage on the day

Arrival before setup, a walk-through of the room, agreed positions — and no flash in anyone’s face.

  5. 5

    Same-day, then the gallery

A press or social selection on the night if you need it; the full edited gallery in 3–5 working days.

Berlin venues

Every hall sets a different problem

Venue knowledge is not name-dropping. It is knowing where to stand and what the light will do before the first guest walks in.

Messe Berlin & CityCube

Scale, heavy stage wash and LED walls that outshine every face in the room. Exposed for the screen, faces lifted afterwards.

bcc Berliner Congress Center

A round hall with steep sightlines and exactly one clean position for the wide house shot.

STATION Berlin, Kraftwerk, Alte Münze

Magnificent industrial volumes with almost no ambient light. Fast glass and bounced fill, never a bare flash.

Tempelhof hangars

Daylight from one side that shifts by stops between the morning and afternoon sessions.

Mitte hotel ballrooms

Warm, low chandelier light that flash would destroy. Shot available-light wherever the ISO allows.

Spreespeicher & the Spree lofts

Brick, glass and river light — lovely and contrasty in equal measure, and tight to move in.

Questions

Before you book

What does event photography in Berlin cost?
Every event is quoted as one fixed, all-in price rather than an hourly rate with extras added afterwards. The figure is driven by coverage hours, whether a same-day press set is needed, whether the programme requires a second photographer, and the usage you need. The event price guide explains how a quote is built and what to ask other photographers so you can compare like with like.
How far in advance should we book?
For conferences and galas, as soon as the date is fixed — two to six months is typical. December company parties should be enquired about in September. Smaller receptions and press events can often be covered at a week’s notice, and a last-minute enquiry is always worth sending.
Can we get photographs the same day?
Yes, when it is agreed in advance. A press or social selection of ten to forty edited frames can be delivered during the event or immediately afterwards, edited on site between sessions.
Who owns the pictures, and what may we publish?
The delivered gallery is yours to use across your marketing, press, recruiting and internal channels, with no per-image fees added later. Sponsor licensing or resale to media partners is agreed in writing when you need it.
How do you handle guest consent and DSGVO?
Photography is announced in the registration email and on signage at the entrance, with a visible way to opt out — a different lanyard or a sticker. Stage participants are covered by their speaker agreements, and close portraits of individual guests are taken with their agreement. The gallery is culled before delivery of anything nobody would want published.
Do you work in German and English?
Yes — briefings, on-the-day coordination with AV and venue staff, and image captions can all be handled in either language.
Do you cover events outside Berlin?
Yes. Brandenburg and the surrounding region are normal bookings, and anything further afield is quoted with travel billed at cost rather than marked up.
