České Švýcarsko is not a conference destination and should not be sold as one. It is an incentive and team-programme landscape — sandstone gorges, a river ravine and villages of timbered houses an hour from Dresden and ninety minutes from Prague — where the value is entirely in getting people outside and away from a screen.
Why hold an event in Bohemian Switzerland
- A landscape guests will actually remember. Nothing a venue can build competes with the gorges.
- Genuinely between two capitals. German and Czech teams arrive from opposite directions in about the same time.
- Right for twenty to eighty people. Small enough for a real programme, large enough for a department.
- Cheap by comparison. Guesthouse and small-hotel rates here are a fraction of city congress pricing.
The venues
Hřensko and the Kamenice gorges
The boat trips through the ravine are the region’s signature activity. Deep shade, reflected water light and no possibility of additional lighting.
Jetřichovice and Chřibská guesthouses
Small hotels and guesthouses with meeting rooms for twenty to sixty people. Simple daylight rooms, warm evenings, low ceilings.
Pravčická brána
The rock arch and the Falcon’s Nest building beneath it. A protected national park site with strict rules — a walking destination, not a party venue.
Farm and estate venues
Converted barns and estate buildings on the plateau for dinners and team programmes, usually with an outdoor half.
This is a national park, and the rules are enforced. Drones, commercial photography, off-path access and anything resembling a staged production need permission from the park administration, arranged well in advance. A private group photograph on a marked path is fine; a branded shoot is not, unless it has been cleared.
Photographing events here
Deep shade, high contrast and long walks between locations — the hardest daylight conditions in the region, and the most rewarding pictures.
- Gorge and forest work is high-contrast shade; exposure is set for faces and the highlights are recovered in the edit.
- Everything is carried. Programmes here are shot with one body and two lenses, not with a lighting kit.
- Weather is the plan, not the risk. Every outdoor element needs an indoor fallback agreed at booking.
