Liberec is the one town in the border region that can take a genuinely large event without sending anyone to Prague. It has a congress hotel, a multipurpose arena, a technical university and, on the ridge above the city, one of the most photographed buildings in Central Europe. An hour from Dresden, an hour from Prague, and priced like neither.

Why hold an event in Liberec

  • Capacity that the rest of the region does not have. Congresses of several hundred people fit here without splitting across venues.
  • A genuine landmark. The Ještěd tower-hotel is instantly recognisable and gives a corporate evening a setting nothing else in the region matches.
  • An industrial and technical audience on site. Automotive suppliers, plastics and the technical university make this a natural place for a supplier day or a technical conference.
  • Winter works here. Unlike most of the region, Liberec has a season in January.

The venues

Hotel Babylon

The largest congress and hotel complex in the city, with plenary and breakout rooms plus accommodation under one roof. Interior lighting is heavy and warm; plan white balance per room.

Home Credit Arena

The multipurpose arena for the largest formats — kick-offs, awards, product presentations. Enormous volumes, stage wash, almost no ambient light.

Ještěd

The ridge hotel and transmitter above the city. Small, dramatic, weather-dependent and unlike anywhere else. For an executive dinner rather than a congress.

Technical University campus

Lecture theatres and modern daylight rooms for technical conferences, with the usual problem of daylight shifting by stops across a session.

Ještěd is a weather decision, not a venue decision. The ridge sits in cloud regularly, and the view your guests were promised may not exist on the evening. Every booking there needs a stated fallback.

Photographing events here

Liberec spans the full range: a dark arena, a heavy hotel interior, daylight lecture rooms and a mountain-top restaurant. Each needs a different approach in the same booking.

  • Arena formats depend entirely on the event’s own lighting design — ask for the lighting plan before the day.
  • Hotel congress rooms are shot with bounced fill; a direct flash flattens the room and irritates delegates.
  • On the ridge, the twenty minutes around sunset are worth more than any equipment. Plan the group photograph into the running order.

Getting there

From Dresden About 1 hour 30 by car
From Prague About 1 hour by car or bus

What coverage costs

The same fixed, all-in rate card applies here as in Berlin, Dresden and Munich: from €950 for a half day and from €1,650 for a full day, with the edit, a private gallery and usage rights included. Travel is quoted at cost from whichever base is nearest — for Liberec that is usually Prague or Dresden. The full breakdown is on the dresden event photography prices page.
